A prayer for when fear knocks on the door
Brad Sadler

Lord you know the things that each of us are fearful of, things that catch us unawares and often knock our faith in you.

Your word encourages us to trust you in times of fear.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27 NIV

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalms 34:4 NIV

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 27:1 NIV

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

Father I ask that when fear comes knocking, you give us a constant faith and steady courage, facing that fear with the assurance of the promises found in your Word. Help us to remember of the victory we have in Christ and that in due time you will work all things together for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose. (Romans 8:28)

This morning, may we find refuge under your wings and we give glory to your name, your faithfulness will be our shield (Psalm 91:4).

“When fear knocks on your door, send faith to answer.”
